When attending a baby's birth Lisa provides parents with assurance and peace of mind by being immediately available if the baby needs help adjusting to life outside the womb.

After the baby's birth, Lisa can identify problems and plan appropriate management with parents. In the event that a baby needs to be admitted to the Special Care Nursery, Lisa will review your baby each day to assess progress.

Sometimes problems that affect newborn babies are detected during pregnancy. Your Obstetrician may refer you to Lisa to discuss what can be expected after your baby is born.

Lisa is available for consultation on the health and well being of babies up to 6 months of age following a referral from your GP or Obstetrician.

Lisa travels to Mongolia regularly to teach and support Mongolian Neonatal Paediatricians in looking after sick and preterm babies.

Lisa joins the Paediatric, Infant and Perinatal Emergency Retrieval service throughout the year to train maternity health professionals in neonatal resuscitation throughout metro and country Victoria.

In 2018, Lisa spent a month working and teaching at the Vision Maternity Care Hospital run by the Barbara May Foundation in Bahidar. See the story on the Epworth blog here.
